How to start a life story
It’s easy.Do you have a story you not only want to tell, but want to keep for future generations? We know how difficult it could be to write down your own stories and, more importantly, to keep it accessible year after year, which is why we’re offering a whole new option that’s easy, streamlined, and affordable. Record all your life stories here with minimal effort on your part.
At Chapterscrolls, you will automatically have access to your very own chapter library once you register for a free account. Here, all your stories would be saved for easy access and easy sharing.
Once you’re ready to begin, simply schedule a phone appointment and tell your story. We’ll do the rest. Your story will be organized, written, and formatted for you. You can review and request changes as you see fit (so don’t worry about making a mistake while telling your story).
When it’s finalized, your story will be uploaded to your box, and you will be able to share it with your confidants using a simple link or by inviting them privately to your portal.
Writing a good story can be hard, so we want to simplify this process as much as possible. With Chapterscrolls, you can now record your stories in an easy, streamlined fashion. We won’t just write down your words verbatim, but will craft your story into something beautiful. You can think of us as a professional photographer, but one that uses words to capture your moments with all the right composition and in all the right lighting.

Tell a collective story
Have you just experienced something extraordinary with a group of people, or do you share collective memories of an important span of time with others? Pool your memories together into one complete story, craft it into a chapter, and then share it amongst yourselves as a token to the past.
Designate one person to tell the story, or tell it all together. After all, people all remember things slightly differently. Like a puzzle, many pieces coming together can often create a more exciting and vivid picture.
Own your memories
Your story, your style
You can specify if you want it written in first person or third person, in a more lyrical style or a more conversational style, or, if you prefer, as close to your own manner of speaking as possible. Your scribe will do her best to accommodate. Your memories should be preserved the way you imagine it to be.
Muddled memories?
Sometimes our memories get a little tangled up with the years, and a story that seems complete in your mind ends up surfacing in bits and pieces when you fish it out of the depths of your mind and try to reconstruct it in a sequence of words. That’s perfectly normal! Just tell it the way you remember it. We can work together to sort out the memory puzzle.

Choose settings for each chapter
Each completed chapter will be saved as its own individual file, and you can easily add confidants to view it. If you want to save it for a later date and don’t want to share it with anyone yet, feel free to keep it private for as long as you want. If you want to make your chapter open to the public, we have options for that as well.

How do you define time? Each day, the sun rises and then sets, but what differentiates one day from another? What sets apart one minute from the next? What I believe is that it's our experiences and stories that lend sense to time--at least at the human scale we're familiar with. I recognize the significance of all the stories our there, and I'm here to help catch as many as possible before they slip away from our collective memory.
